Grand Canyon University is an institutionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University located in Phoenix, Arizona. We are launching an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program in Jacksonville and are seeking an Immersive Simulation Technician to support the use of immersive simulation for all users.
About the role
The Immersive Simulation Technician provides the technical skills to support immersive simulation equipment, media, computers, and materials. You will assist learners and the Immersive Simulation Facilitator with simulation work and preparation for lab experiences.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for operations to ensure all equipment is running properly and efficiently.
- Provide technical operational support for all systems and equipment related to immersive simulation.
- Assist with training faculty in the use of simulation equipment and serve as a resource for faculty utilizing simulation.
- Work in collaboration with the Director of Lab to maintain inventory of supplies and equipment as needed for simulation.
- Support and assist in props placement and moulage set-up to create a virtual healthcare setting.
- Assist with development of scenarios utilized for simulation experiences.
- Occasional weekend and/or evening coverage as needed.
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission.
Requirements
- Must have a granted diploma or certification relative to background experience (e.g., medical assistant diploma).
- Two or more years of patient care experience as a Paramedic, Medical Assistant/Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Respiratory Therapist, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN), Simulation Technician, or any other licensed health care provider preferred.
- Two years related experience in a clinical healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, pharmacology, and equipment.
- Unencumbered FL LPN or RN Licensure or FL Certification helpful but not required.

Schedule
Onsite Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
