Requirements

• NYS Security Guard License (Required)
• S-60 Fire Guard License (Required)
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification (for construction) (Required)
• Valid Driver's License or State ID (Required)
• Security experience: 1 year (Preferred)
• Good communication skills
• People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
• Call the police or fire department in case of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons
• Deter/prevent theft
• Secure designated areas
• Patrol areas for suspicious activity
• Report daily activities
• Respond to alarms
• Walking around and standing may be required during vertical and perimeter patrol
