Responsibilities
- Follows prescribed techniques in administering general and specific radiographs.
- Produces high quality radiographs on all patient age groups while explaining the procedure to the patient.
- Positions and/or immobilizes patient for procedure, selects appropriate technical factor for specific body part, and reviews images for quality and accuracy of positioning.
- Willingly helps in other departments or other team members within the Imaging department whenever the needs arise.
- Auxiliary support for Radiologist with Invasive / Non-Invasive Imaging procedures.
- Transports patients to and from floor if needed while confirming face-to-face hand off.
- Promotes a professional image by adhering to established dress codes.
- Completes work assignments within a reasonable time frame.
- Reports to supervisor all discrepancies in the work environment.
- Utilizes PACS and EMR correctly and efficiently.
- Adhere to all TJC standards.
- Promotes courteous behavior through polite and respectful communication with all co-workers, patients, and guests.
- Adheres to all Compliance laws and regulations and reports any suspected unethical activities to the proper individual.
- Uses Safe Radiation Shielding practices at all times (ALARA, wearing of lead aprons, shielding of patients, appropriate collimations).
Requirements
- Must be a 2nd year student in an accredited Diagnostic Imaging Program.
- BLS certification must be current or completed within first 60 days.
- Knowledgeable of all basic imaging procedures and no issues with track of graduation.
