About the role
The Imaging Systems Assistant position is available at Fairview's Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN. This is a .65 FTE (52 hours per 2 weeks) position that works Monday through Friday from 4:30PM - 10PM, excluding weekends. The position requires working 1 rotating holiday per year.
Responsibilities
- Represents the department in a positive and professional manner
- Performs customer intake duties, answers inquiries, and takes concise and accurate phone messages
- Schedules and checks in patients, communicates written and verbal information clearly and concisely, and protects confidentiality of highly protected health information
- Orders and maintains office supplies, demonstrates the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintains lobby appearance, customer equipment, and amenities
- Transports patients, scans orders, reports, and other information, prepares daily paperwork, reviews schedule, resolves conflicts, and schedules changes
- Maintains film file room, maintains up-to-date knowledge and proficiency with all information technology and radiology technologies, burns CDs, maintains data on RIS, files and retrieves film jackets, digitizes analog films, completes and organizes law cases, organizes, maintains, and updates the file system, completes all computer functions efficiently and correctly, verifies patient identification on CDs/films released, follows established policies and procedures for release of patient information, uploads appropriate outside images to PACS, accurately performs all information management processes, responds to and completes all requests for information within established turnaround times, assists with orienting and training of new personnel
- Demonstrates proper technique in operating and maintaining all necessary equipment, identifies and actively performs problem-solving processes for equipment to ensure all are in working order, positively learns and adapts to new technology as it is introduced
- Performs other job duties as directed by leader(s)
Requirements
- 1 year experience in a customer service field
- Relevant experience with computer, office equipment, medical terminology, customer service, and communication
- Radiology experience preferred
- 3 years experience as a receptionist or scheduler in a health care related field preferred

Compensation within the posted range may be determined by various factors, including skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization prioritizes pay equity and considers internal team equity when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
