Imaging Support Services Specialist - PRN

Responsibilities

• Manages radiology orders, images and reports related to patient exams.
• Fulfills requests from patients, physicians and attorneys for radiology images and reports.
• S securely shares patient images with external healthcare institutions.
• Prepares studies for Radiologist interpretation and presentation at clinical conferences.
• Supports the over-read and discrepancies processes for overnight ED cases.
• Gathers and prepares necessary information for PET and IR consults.
• Preps patient studies for upcoming OR surgeries.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to type forty (40) words per minute
• Demonstrated computer skills
• Previous experience in a fast paced environment
• Must be able to function independently
• Demonstrated problem solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a logical manner
• Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in the usage of medical terminology
• Excellent customer service skills
• Demonstrated organizational skills
• Must have an understanding of medical terminology

Preferred

• Prior clerical experience, preferably in radiology or other hospital/medical office environment
• Certificate of completion in a medical terminology course
