Imaging Services Assistant - Contingent - Rotating

GENERAL SUMMARY

Aids technologists in the diagnosis of medical problems and provides support for the imaging department.

• Explains procedures to patients to ensure understanding.
• Provides appropriate educational material.
• Transports patients to and from clinical areas and verifies patient identity according to policies and procedures.
• Aids technologists in preparing patients for radiology exams by positioning them for the procedure.
• Aids technologists with PACS and EMR documentation on an as needed basis.
• Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
• Performs post-procedural duties including patient discharge, room cleanup, and restocking supplies.
• Aids with inventory control.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required. Professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED

BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

ADDITIONAL PREFERENCES

• Some computer knowledge.
• Customer service skills.
