Imaging & Resection Sales Representative
About the Role
The Imaging & Resection (I&R) Sales Representative drives revenue growth and executes strategies to achieve sales objectives and key business metrics across Arthrex's I&R portfolio, including capital equipment, video systems, and related disposables. This role partners closely with surgeons, OR staff, and healthcare stakeholders to provide product expertise, clinical education, and procedural support that improves customer and patient outcomes. The representative collaborates cross-functionally with sales teams and leadership to ensure exceptional customer support, successful product adoption, and sustainable business growth.
Responsibilities
- Achieve and exceed sales targets through new business development and account expansion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with surgeons, administrators, and clinical stakeholders.
- Educate customers on I&R technologies, clinical applications, and product benefits.
- Provide in-procedure support and product expertise to ensure successful utilization and adoption.
- Assist with business development initiatives, including cold calling and hunting for new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Imaging & Resection Sales Manager to develop a strong sales strategy that aligns with customer needs.
- Identify customer needs and propose creative solutions that align with business objectives and guidelines, including pricing/billing in line with company policies.
- Partner with internal sales force to uncover opportunities for sales and service of capital and video equipment.
- Assist in training Technology Representatives in the field and classroom on I&R products.
- Participate in labs, industry meetings, and trade shows to showcase I&R equipment.
- Regularly review service agreements for past service logs and needs to assist with recommendations at current and future accounts.
- Execute software upgrades, troubleshoot equipment issues, perform preventative maintenance, build surgical preference settings, prepare equipment and disposables for trials, assist with executing trials, deliver and install purchased equipment, and train customers on appropriate cleaning processes.
- Complete all educational courses required by the Medical Education Coordinator.
- Work cross-functionally with Arthrex corporate, sales operations, regulatory, sales, and finance to accomplish objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- 2+ years of capital equipment sales experience.
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience with cold-calling and new business development.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Previous experience in healthcare facilities and operating rooms.
- Successful completion of I&R Initial Onsite Training (IOT) prior to or within 4 months of start date.
- Successful completion of Sports IOT prior to or within 12 months of start date.
- Ability to succeed in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Work Environment
The I&R Sales Representative will spend significant time traveling to meetings, hospitals, and practices. The role involves constant interaction, problem-solving, and adapting to the needs of healthcare providers and the business.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting for Long Periods: Reps spend a lot of time driving between hospitals, clinics, and meetings. Periodic airline travel is required for training, meetings, and company functions.
- Standing for Long Periods: Reps will often be present in operating rooms or product demonstrations where they need to stand, observe, and engage with medical professionals.
- Lifting & Carrying: Medical devices can range from small tools to heavy equipment, requiring Reps to transport and set up displays or training materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Walking Between Locations: In large hospitals or medical facilities, Reps may need to walk extensively to visit different departments.
- Dexterity & Fine Motor Skills: Setting up and demonstrating equipment may require precise handling and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
