About the role
Creates, distributes, and coordinates daily procedure schedules with Radiologists.
Aids Radiologists with inpatient and outpatient consultations and minimally invasive imaging-based procedures.
Collaborates with multiple departments to ensure timely performance of procedures and follows up on incomplete or incorrect exams.
Provides necessary education to patients, family, and medical staff about exams and procedures, addressing patient needs and anxieties.
Aids Radiologists in providing timely results to ancillary departments and physician offices, facilitating physician-to-physician communication.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge and skill with sterile technique.
- Knowledge of interventional procedures.
- Demonstrates calm, professional, and effective listening and speaking skills, and applies nonverbal communication techniques as appropriate during all communication.
- Proficiency in multi-tasking by monitoring worklists, handling multiple phone lines.
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn/adapt to new technologies and protocols and help develop the knowledge and competency of coworkers and Radiology team members.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Radiologic Science [Preferred]
- High School Diploma or equivalent [Required]
- 3+ years experience assisting with image-based procedures [Preferred]
- Current valid license as a General Radiographer or Sonographer [Upon Hire Required]
- Advanced modality certification (CT, MRI, NM, MG) [Upon Hire Required]
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Registered Technologist – Radiography (RT(R) (ARRT)) [Required]
- OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) [Required]
- OR Registered Technologist - Sonography (RT(S) (ARRT)) [Required]
