Imaging Informatics Analyst III

About the Role

The Imaging Informatics Application Analyst is responsible for the effective implementation, configuration, and support of critical applications, ensuring they meet user needs, optimize workflows, and align with business objectives. This role combines the responsibilities of an Imaging Informaticist and an Application Systems Analyst, requiring a unique blend of clinical knowledge, technical expertise, and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements, configure application settings, and perform system testing
• Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with vendors and development teams
• Maintain documentation, assist with user training, and support upgrades and deployments
• Develop educational tools including paper handouts, courses, web site help pages, and video instruction
• Provide direct support for physicians, advanced practitioners, clinicians, and administrators in the use of facilities IT and technology resources
• Lead training sessions of all levels, including training for medium to high-complexity applications
• Anticipate and resolve routine and critical issues that arise within complex facility information systems; provide input into resolution and required functionality and system changes
• Coordinate physician, advanced practitioner, clinician, and administrator service requests and incident resolutions through the Enterprise Help Desk
• Oversee PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems), RIS (Radiology Information Systems), and ancillary imaging software solutions to ensure high performance and reliability
• Integrate imaging technology with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and other ancillary systems to facilitate seamless data flow
• Facilitate ongoing process and workflow analysis and optimization, ensuring business workflows and technical solutions are efficiently implemented and maintained
• Partner with medical imaging technology staff to resolve image viewing, transmission, or storage issues and ensure effective maintenance practices
• Coordinate with third-party technology vendors for implementations, upgrades, and repairs
• Monitor diagnostic information and reporting outputs to ensure optimal imaging quality and delivery

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Technical School degree/certificate or relevant work experience
• Seven to Ten (7-10) years of experience in IT or Informatics working on Ambulatory, Clinical, or Audio/visual applications
• Experience working with project life cycle and project management methodologies
• Demonstrated expertise in Merative Merge PACS
• Proficiency in medical imaging workflows
• Knowledge of DICOM and HL7 standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Practical experience in application configuration and support
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with users and teams
• Commitment to system integrity, user satisfaction, and continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Nursing or other related healthcare profession (for Clinical Applications Support)
• Three to Five (3-5) years working in a healthcare/medical environment
• Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) credential, offered by the American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII), is highly preferred, but can be obtained within the first year of employment

Pay Range

$43.10 - $64.11 /hour
