About the role

The Imaging Services Assistant will greet and welcome patients and other staff to the Imaging Department. They will check patients in, answer phone inquires from patients and hospital personnel, and schedule Imaging exams. This position will also be responsible for preparing CDs/DVDs and pushing images electronically to other facilities, assisting physicians in locating patient images, loading images into PACS and maintaining orderliness of the reception area of Imaging Services Department at Mitchell County Regional Health Center, remaining HIPPA compliant at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients and other staff to the Imaging Department
  • Check patients in
  • Answer phone inquires from patients and hospital personnel
  • Schedule Imaging exams
  • Prepare CDs/DVDs and push images electronically to other facilities
  • Absorb and assist physicians in locating patient images
  • Loading images into PACS
  • Maintain orderliness of the reception area of Imaging Services Department
  • Remain HIPPA compliant at all times

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled as a 2nd year student in an accredited Radiologic Technology program with current participation in radiology classes and clinical rotations
  • No experience is required
  • Must have knowledge of basic radiology procedures and have documented competency validation on all applicable modalities from the educational program and advanced knowledge of radiation safety standards
  • Must be flexible for the staffing of all shifts, weekends, holidays, and call duties
  • Must provide proof of Basic Life Support-American Heart Association (BLS Healthcare Provider) prior to employment and continue to maintain current certification in BLS
  • Complete Mandatory Reporting requirement within 90 days of hire. Renew Mandatory Reporting requirements every 5 years

Qualifications

  • Education: Must be enrolled as a 2nd year student in an accredited Radiologic Technology program with current participation in radiology classes and clinical rotations
