ILUS - Project Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Designs/Enhances conveyor systems as well as various automated and semi-automated material handling systems
• Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements and specifications
• Captures technical developments, schedules, and resolves engineering design and test problems
• Creates approval, permit, and installation drawings using AutoCAD
• Obtains material and product quotes from vendors and issues purchase orders
• Maintains the project schedule, engineering time, and material costs
• Collaborates with other disciplines on the project team to ensure the engineered solution and all equipment fit within system confines and constraints
• Travels up to 20% to measure buildings, inventory equipment, commission systems, and interface with customers
• Participates in continuous improvement projects
• Solves engineering issues by working with customers, vendors, and other team members

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical or Industrial, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 2 years of material handling related experience
• AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks proficiency
• Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project
• Knowledge of the material handling business and ability to assist across teams and divisions
• Ability to interface effectively with internal and external customers, vendors, consulting engineers, architects, and installers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
• Team-oriented and collaborative
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Able to learn new technology
