About the role
Dallas Retirement Village is a uniquely uplifting senior living community located in Dallas, Oregon, offering vibrant living and exceptional hospitality on a 30-acre campus. We are currently seeking a full-time housekeeper for our health center.
General Summary
The health center housekeeper is responsible for maintaining and cleaning resident rooms and common areas, including cleaning, mopping, removing trash, and keeping residents' homes as clean and odor free as possible. This role also involves maintaining schedules and other duties as assigned by Supervisor and Director.
Job Duties
- Maintain a clean and fresh environment in all assigned areas of campus
- Responsible for day-to-day operations of housekeeping chores, completing work orders assigned
- Perform any essential duties of housekeeping
- Ensure all assigned areas are cleaned according to schedule
- Always follow safety regulations and established infection control and chemical safety protocol
- Clean and maintain assigned work areas and equipment
- Maintain and ensure resident items are taken care of and cleaned as necessary
- Ensure all documentation and checklists are completed daily as assigned
- Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene and comply with department dress code
- Attend in-service training and education sessions assigned
- Complete various side jobs as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic
- Ability to use a cash register and make change
- Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, push, pull carts, and perform other physical movements
- Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with, and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates
- Must be able to perform duties in a timely manner consistent with the needs of residents and assigned schedules
- Must be able to understand and effectively support and apply DRV policies and procedures
- Must be able to communicate effectively with seniors, their guests, and DRV staff members
- Must be able to work with chemicals safely
- Must be able to work independently
- Must have good oral and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to appropriately prioritize and organize multiple tasks/projects
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully and pleasantly with residents, families, staff, community resources, visitors, and the general public
- Must be highly customer service oriented and dedicated to providing superior hospitality and service at all times
- Must be able to project cheerfulness and enthusiasm, maintain a positive attitude, and work as a productive member of the health center
- Must maintain a professional appearance in compliance with facility dress codes
- Must be able to read and write in English
