The Illinois Historic Preservation Agency’s Preservation Services Division is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to lead their cultural resource review and compliance section, which currently comprises four staff members.
About the role
- Oversee cultural resource reviews and compliance activities
- Manage staff and ensure efficient operations
- Develop and implement policies and procedures
Responsibilities
- Conduct site inspections and evaluations
- Prepare documentation for federal and state agencies
- Collaborate with other agencies and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with preservation laws and regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in history, archaeology, environmental science, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in cultural resource management
- Knowledge of federal and state preservation laws and regulations
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Experience leading teams and managing projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong writing and editing skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
