About the role

Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team!

Responsibilities

  • Assist physician with patient care, clerical and clinical tasks.
  • Convey a positive image of the clinic.
  • Collect, process routine testing, and return results to the doctor.
  • Provide excellent customer service on the phone, with patients, doctors, and other medical staff.
  • Work well under pressure and prioritize tasks.
  • Perform CLIA-waived moderate testing.
  • Handle patient referrals, pull charts, file documents, clean and wrap instruments, stock rooms, reconcile lab results, room patients, take vitals and histories.
  • Answer telephones, review and assign faxes, handle healthy connections referrals/eligibility, collect calls, prior authorizations, check patients in/out at the front desk, collect pertinent information.
  • Collect and process payments, scan and discharge, answer phones, post charges, some coding/billing, manage medical records, perform blood draws, and give injections.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Health Sciences program or higher.
  • Current BLS, PEARS/ACLS certification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Drug screen/breath alcohol certified.
  • CMA course preferred but not required.
  • Phlebotomy course and experience.
  • IV certification preferred.
  • Basic computer and typing skills.
  • Operate vital sign monitoring devices and manual BP equipment.
  • The ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Bilingual is a plus.
  • Must understand medical terminology.
  • General math skills.
  • Sound judgment, organization, multitasking, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Recognize and understand the complexity and reflex-testing of laboratory results.
