Ignition Developer - Operations Technology

About the role

Develop, test and implement new projects on-time and on budget within the Ignition development platform.
Ensure the design and development of technology solutions properly fulfill all business requirements.
Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues.
Design, update and interface with various database engines.
Test, maintain and recommend software improvements to ensure strong functionality and optimization.
Work with experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing.
Identify ideas to improve system performance and impact availability and performance.
Resolve complex technical design issues.
Develop technical specifications and plans.
Make good technical decisions that provide solutions to business challenges.
Provide comprehensive support to internal customers; achieve resolution to outstanding problems or issues.
Compile timely, comprehensive and accurate documentation and or reports as requested.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in programming or related field, or Associate degree in programming with minimum 3+ years of relevant experience, or minimum 5 years related experience.
• Ignition software experience preferred.
• Preferably extensive hands-on experience with gateway scripts, templates, UDT standardization.
• Perspective knowledge is a plus.
• Proficient with MS SQL (advanced SQL knowledge is preferred).
• Proficient in Python.
• Knowledge and experience of ethernet networking and protocols.
• Able to comprehend and implement detailed project specifications as well as the ability to adapt to various technologies and simultaneously work on multiple projects.
• Able to work both independently and as part of a small team.
• Attention to details and data accuracy.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills and creative thinking skills.

Qualifications

Skills

• Java desired.
• Strong background in data modeling and database design concepts desired.
• Knowledge of Agile, Continuous Integration and Test Driven Development is a plus.
• Mobile application development experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of GIT repository management is a plus.

Compensation varies based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

The position will move to a remote work schedule after completion of onsite training.
