About the Role
The Teacher - Special Education provides services to students of all identified educational disabilities. This position involves managing a caseload, developing and monitoring Individual Education Plan (IEP) progress, adapting curriculum to meet student needs using current instructional technology and adaptive equipment while meeting Common Core Standards, and co-teaching in core academic subjects within a collaborative team approach. This position is for the 2026-2027 school year.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in job-related area required
- Illinois Professional Educator License or Educator License with Stipulations required
- LBSI endorsement required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with students with emotional, behavioral and academic needs preferred
- Experience developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Knowledgeable about IDEA and the laws that govern working with students with disabilities
Compensation and Benefits
Minimum starting salary with Bachelor's degree: $56,920 (includes District paid TRS pension) - pro-rated to start date
Minimum starting salary with Master's degree: $62,042 (includes District paid TRS pension) - pro-rated to start date
