About the role
The Educator - Individualized Education Services is responsible for providing services to students of all identified educational disabilities. Duties include administering developmental tests, advising parents, advocating for student needs, and developing and monitoring Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Responsibilities
- Administers developmental testing programs and/or subject specific assessments.
- Advise parents and/or legal guardians of student progress.
- Advocate for student needs and ensure timely implementation of IEP components.
- Achieve student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals.
- Collaborate with parents, administrators, related services providers, and other professionals.
- Communicate consistently with administration and parents.
- Complete Medicaid logging.
- Counsel students.
- Create, write, monitor, and facilitate Individual Education Plans (IEP's).
- Develop plans for effective communication, monitoring progress, and collaborating with general education teachers.
- Manage and teach socially appropriate behavior.
- Maintain discipline standards in the classroom.
- Prepare a variety of written materials and plans daily instruction.
- Respond to emergency situations.
- Operate various school equipment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Illinois Professional Educator License or License with Stipulations.
- Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBSI) endorsement.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with students with emotional, behavioral, and academic needs preferred.
- Experience developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEP's) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP's).
