About the role
The AZ State School for the Deaf and Blind is seeking individuals who can provide educational services to students with hearing and visual impairments. The school offers a unique environment that combines specialized education with community integration.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students based on their unique needs and abilities.
- Collaborate with other professionals in the educational team to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Provide direct instruction and guidance to students in various subjects including language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress and performance.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in special education or a related field.
- Valid teaching license in special education.
- Experience working with students who have hearing and/or visual impairments.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive strategies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Pass a background check and health clearance.
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
