Essential Functions
- Provides assistance with application development, database design, network, and/or platform efforts, helping project teams comply with policies, regulations, and best practices.
- Researches, designs, and/or advocates for new technologies, architectures, and security products that will support security requirements for internal and external partners.
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of information security strategy and architecture.
- Analyzes business impact and exposure based on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks.
- Communicates security risks and solutions to others, as needed.
- May lead development projects and advise leadership and users on new or optimal technologies or methods to improve the functionality and/or efficiency.
Required Education And Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Five (5) years of experience in related cybersecurity operations, engineering, or IT project management with a technical background.
- Every 30 hours of college coursework can be substituted for one (1) year of experience, up to four (4) years.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of cybersecurity operations, audit readiness, and security frameworks.
- Skill in automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python).
- Ability to prepare for and support internal/external audits.
- Skill in mentoring junior staff or student workers.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of infrastructure fundamentals and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Ability to identify and automate manual cybersecurity processes.
- Skill in collaborating across IT and non-IT teams.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain in a stationary position.
- Ability to move or traverse across campus.
- Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
