IDMS Implementation Manager
About the role
PROtect LLC is seeking an experienced IDMS Implementation & Operations Manager to lead the execution of industrial inspection data management system (IDMS) projects for refining, petrochemical, pipeline, and other industrial clients. This individual will supervise technical personnel while managing the implementation, configuration, conversion, and ongoing support of industry-leading IDMS platforms, including SHIELD and other inspection management systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise IDMS implementation projects from kickoff through client acceptance.
- Manage multiple implementation teams, schedules, budgets, and project deliverables.
- Plan and execute data conversions from legacy inspection databases and spreadsheets into IDMS platforms.
- Oversee the collection, organization, quality review, and digitization of hard-copy inspection records.
- Configure equipment hierarchies, circuits, inspection plans, corrosion loops, damage mechanisms, and inspection histories.
- Coordinate with client mechanical integrity, inspection, reliability, and maintenance personnel.
- Review data quality and ensure consistency with API and client standards.
- Develop implementation procedures, work instructions, and quality control processes.
- Mentor and supervise implementation specialists, analysts, and project personnel.
- Provide technical support during system startup, user acceptance testing, and client training.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation using emerging technologies and AI-assisted workflows.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience implementing and/or administering industrial IDMS platforms.
- Strong understanding of refinery and petrochemical mechanical integrity programs.
- Working knowledge of: API 510, API 570, API 653, API 580/581 Risk-Based Inspection.
- Experience with inspection planning, corrosion management, and RBI programs.
- Experience performing or managing large-scale data migration and data conversion projects.
- Experience organizing and validating historical inspection records and engineering documentation.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven project management experience with multiple concurrent client projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multiple IDMS platforms (SHIELD, PCMS, GE APM/Meridium, Antea, Pinnacle, Visions/Emerson, or similar).
- Familiarity with SAP, Maximo, or other CMMS platforms.
- Knowledge of SQL, database structures, or reporting tools.
