About the role

The IDEA Teacher - K-12 position is part of an open pool and applications are accepted year-round. This role requires a Bachelor's Degree and a Class A Mississippi Teacher's License for Mild/Moderate Disability and/or Emotional Disability (K-12).

Responsibilities

• Teach classes in accordance with all policies and procedures as stated in Ocean Springs School Board Policies.
• Adhere to School Board Policy GBE if transferring within the system.
• Implement classroom instructional methods and management techniques.
• Apply knowledge of Mississippi College and Career readiness standards in teaching practices.
• Integrate technology into daily instruction to enhance learning experiences.
• Develop strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, colleagues, administration, parents, and the community.
• Show proficiency in written and oral communication, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
• Possess good computer skills necessary for the job.
• Be physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor's Degree.

Class A Mississippi Teacher's License: 221-Mild/Moderate Disability and/or 206-Emotional Disability (K-12).
