ID 6737 - High School Head Ski Coach

Seasonal position; reapplication required annually.

About the role

Provide leadership and instruction for the high-school ski program at Lake Oswego High School.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a positive learning environment for athletes.
• Teach the technical and tactical skills necessary for successful performance.
• Manage athlete behavior during training sessions, meets, and events.
• Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and School Board Policies.
• Attend all meets and events scheduled for the sport.
• Serve as a positive role model for students.
• Attend all required coaches’ meetings.

Requirements

• Experience working with students and in the sport of skiing.
• NFHS Coaches Certification (ASEP) must be completed prior to the start of the season.
• First Aid Certification and Bloodborne Pathogen training (provided by the district).
• Verification of identity and employment authorization.
• Successful completion of a fingerprint-based criminal-history verification through the Oregon Department of Education (candidate pays $10–$20 for fingerprint transmission and $75 for the verification check).

Pay

$6,260 – $8,365, depending on experience.
