About the role
Provide leadership and instruction for the high-school ski program at Lake Oswego High School.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a positive learning environment for athletes.
- Teach the technical and tactical skills necessary for successful performance.
- Manage athlete behavior during training sessions, meets, and events.
- Take necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and School Board Policies.
- Attend all meets and events scheduled for the sport.
- Serve as a positive role model for students.
- Attend all required coaches’ meetings.
Requirements
- Experience working with students and in the sport of skiing.
- NFHS Coaches Certification (ASEP) must be completed prior to the start of the season.
- First Aid Certification and Bloodborne Pathogen training (provided by the district).
- Verification of identity and employment authorization.
- Successful completion of a fingerprint-based criminal-history verification through the Oregon Department of Education (candidate pays $10–$20 for fingerprint transmission and $75 for the verification check).
Pay
$6,260 – $8,365, depending on experience.
