About the Role

This is a per diem Registered Nurse position in our 14-bed ICU, which follows a shared governance model and maintains excellent nurse-to-patient ratios. The unit has received multiple awards, including a Silber Beacon Award for Excellence, DAISY Team Award, QUEST (Quality, Equity, Safety, and Transparency) Unit of the Year, and several Evidence-Based Practice Awards.

A per diem RN must work a minimum of 16 shifts every 6 months, with at least 4 being weekend shifts, and must cover one summer and one winter holiday.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for planning and providing patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care. Key responsibilities include:

• Assuming full responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
• Demonstrating initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills in caring for patients with complex needs
• Managing patients effectively by setting priorities and utilizing observational skills
• Adhering to all I.C.A.R.E. standards
• Assuring the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice

Requirements

• BSN required
• Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure required
• BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers required
• Must obtain ACLS prior to the end of orientation; may not practice independently without ACLS
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience required
• ICU experience preferred
• CCRN preferred

Pay

Pay range: $41.36 - $100.00/hourly (Grade RN3500). Compensation is based on skills, relevant experience, education, certifications, and other essential factors.

Schedule

• Per Diem, rotating day/night shifts
• Minimum 16 shifts every 6 months, including 4 weekend shifts
• One summer and one winter holiday required
