About the role
The Hospitals of Providence is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a nursing job in El Paso, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct clinical patient care
- Afford responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per shift basis, and unit level
- Afford responsibility for supervision of staff to which appropriate care is delegated
- Afford accountability to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care
- Provides high-quality, safe, cost-effective, total nursing care to all patients
- Afford responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process
- Directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and Infection Control, with the goal being to discharge the patient with an optimum level of care provided
- Afford responsibility for coordination and planning of patient care within the prescribed medical regime
- Administers all medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy
- Performs and fulfills all HICS (hospital incident command system) responsibilities, assignments, tasks, and roles as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency and/or disaster
- Responsible for knowing the Hospital’s emergency codes, including the purpose and appropriate action for each, and adheres to the Hospital policies and procedures for each emergency code
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Must have 1 YOE of RN experience for PRN status
- Recent acute care experience preferred
- Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy
- AHA BLS certification
- If applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP certifications
