ICU Registered Nurse - Per Diem
Employment Type: Per Diem (part‑time); Shift: 12‑hour day shift (7:00 am – 7:30 pm); Location: Nazareth Hospital – Philadelphia, PA; Unit: ICU.
Position Purpose
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of patient care. The professional nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the delegation of patient care to other members of the healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Provide total, comprehensive care to patients by applying the nursing process in an organized and systematic manner according to hospital policy.
- Communicate proactively with the health‑care team about the plan of care, changes in patient condition, patient progress, discharge plan, and other relevant information.
- Complete admissions using a multi‑system approach for assessment and reassessment, documenting assessment, plan, interventions, and outcomes per policy.
- Perform accurate and thorough nursing physical assessments and document findings.
- Reassess patient condition per policy and interpret clinical data to inform the plan of care.
- Assess patients for potential risk factors and recognize individual special needs, incorporating them into individualized care.
- Include pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.
- Adhere to infection‑control standards specific to patient care.
- Assume accountability for managing the delivery of patient care and for learning and communicating policies and nursing procedures.
- Participate in discharge planning using a multidisciplinary approach.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds.
- Assist patients and families with the grieving process and end‑of‑life cases as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
- BSN or BS/BA degree in Nursing (required).
- Current RN Pennsylvania state license (required).
- Current BLS certification (required).
- ACLS certification (required or obtained by completion of orientation if applicable to area of practice).
- Previous acute‑care experience (preferred).
