About the role

In this role, you’ll contribute to designing ICT (Information & Communication Technology) and Security systems, collaborating with senior designers to create innovative solutions that define the future of the built environment.

Responsibilities

  • Apply a strong understanding of state-of-the-art ICT or Security systems, techniques, procedures, design, and modifications.
  • Collaborate with Senior ICT Designers to specify ICT systems, including OSP and ISP fiber optic and copper backbones, horizontal cabling, bonding, cabling pathways, and telecom room design.
  • Collaborate with Senior Security Designers to specify security systems, including Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and Video Surveillance.
  • Assist Senior ICT/Security Designers in preparing client presentations, representing HDR in a positive and professional manner.
  • Work hand-in-hand with Senior ICT/Security Designers in a fast-paced design environment to create professional and complete deliverable documents.
  • Perform ICT/Security engineering assignments with broad guidance from Senior ICT/Security Designers.
  • Conduct cross-discipline coordination to ensure fully integrated scope.
  • Perform QA/QC of the work of other ICT/Security designers.
  • Take on additional duties as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture.

Preferred

  • Current BICSI RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) credential or in the process of obtaining it.
  • BICSI DCDC, OSP, or RTPM certification is a plus.
  • PSP (Physical Security Professional) certification is preferred.
  • Experience with Data Centers and Federal Entities.
  • “Can-Do” attitude and problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency or ability to work in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work in Revit or AutoCAD is preferred, with the ability to learn new applications quickly.
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings, design standards, and practices.
  • Strong desire for continuous learning and professional education.
  • Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 2–10 years of related work experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to work in a high-velocity environment, managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and workmanship quality.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, handle tasks independently, and deliver products on schedule and under budget.

Pay

Colorado: $63,756 – $91,080 (depends on skills, experience, education, and geographical location).

Schedule

Full-time, regular position.

Primary locations: United States-Colorado-Denver. Other locations: United States-Colorado-Colorado Springs, United States-Colorado-Fort Collins, United States-Colorado-Grand Junction.
