About the role
Assists in planning and execution of meetings and special immersive Christmas experiences and other special events. Assists in the implementation of departmental strategies. Promotes and assists in the execution of all property events with a seamless turnover from sales to operations and back to sales where appropriate. Leads the team to meet and exceed daily/weekly goals including, but not limited to, sales, attendance, guest satisfaction, and safety.
Responsibilities

- Researches and analyzes new products, pricing, and services of competition.
- Assists in apprising property of all groups that will impact property operations.
- Assists in execution of event management strategy aligned with the company’s business strategy.
- Conducts daily walk-through of banquet floor to promote client satisfaction and quality standards.
- Learns, operates, and trains employees on software systems used in events such as ticketing, retail, inventory, and space usage.
- Develops working relationships with outside vendors and establishes prices and service agreements to enhance the event experience and increase revenue opportunities.
- Creates opportunities to upsell during event planning.
- Manages department controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
- Manages merchandise inventory, enhancing displays to increase sales.
- Creates an atmosphere in event management operations that meets or exceeds guest expectations.
- Sets a positive example for guest relations and interacts with guests to obtain feedback.
- Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
- Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service and verifies they understand expectations.
- Strives to improve service performance and emphasizes guest satisfaction during departmental meetings.
- Interviews, selects, and trains employees.
- Appraises employee productivity and efficiency for promotions or changes in status.
- Provides for the safety and security of employees and property.
- Monitors employee attendance and records absences/tardiness.
- Helps direct supervisors to achieve their own development goals.
- Conducts annual performance appraisals with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; 2 years experience in hospitality, event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area.
- OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in hospitality or related major; 1 year experience in hospitality, event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or comparable professional area.
Pay
$28.35–$30.27 per hour • Bonus eligible
