Location: Ice Cream Plant City Jerome, Idaho | Full time | Non-exempt | Night Shift (10:00pm-6:30am), and as needed for coverage. Subject to change according to business needs.

About the role

The Ice Cream Line Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of an assigned ice cream production line, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing. This role provides leadership to line operators, coordinates production activities, and supports compliance with food safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all stages of production on the assigned line, including mixing, freezing, filling, and packaging.
• Monitor line performance to meet production schedules and minimize downtime.
• Ensure proper setup and operation of equipment for novelty and bulk ice cream products.
• Lead and train line operators to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching as needed.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Enforce food safety protocols (HACCP, SQF, FDA) and company standards.
• Conduct in-process checks to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Collaborate with maintenance, QA, and warehouse teams to resolve issues quickly.
• Communicate production updates and challenges to the Plant Supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Education or Equivalent
• 2+ years in food manufacturing, with leadership experience on a production line
• Knowledge of ice cream or dairy production processes
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues
• Strong leadership and communication skills

Physical Requirements

• Excessive ascending and/or descending of ladders and stairs using feet and legs and/or hands and arms on a regular basis
• Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for short distances on a regular basis
• Repetitive motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
• Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time on concrete
• Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist on a regular basis
• Reaching: Extending hands and arms in any direction
• Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward
• Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion

• Lifting: Able to lift up to 50lbs on an occasional basis and up to 100lbs rarely

• Subject to noise levels up to at least 92db’s
• Environmental exposure to warehouses stored at ambient (60-70° F), refrigerated (35° F), and frozen (minus 20° F) temperatures
• Subject to environmental conditions as activities occur both inside and outside
• Sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level
