Responsibilities
- Provides subject matter expertise and consulting services on a range of technologies and assists Technical Analysts and Infrastructure Engineers to ensure that technology solutions comply with enterprise system design and engineering standards.
- Affords assistance in translating business requirements into technical definitions, reference models, blueprints, and playbooks for deployment in compliance with architecture standards and policies.
- Affords assistance in the evaluation of reference models, blueprints and playbooks to ensure they are fit for purpose.
- Develops software solutions to address manual and repeatable work or inefficient processes.
- Conducts on-site evaluations of third-party products being considered for firm adoption.
- Promotes an inclusive and healthy working environment and helps to resolve organizational impediments/blockers.
- Contributes to the creation/selection of functional and non-functional product evaluation requirements within and across domains.
Qualifications
- At least 5-7 years of hands-on experience as an IBM I MQ administrator or engineer.
- Extensive IBM MQ Experience, must include strong knowledge of Installation and upgrades, Configuration and administration of queue managers, queues, channels, listeners, and cluster management.
- The ability to handle rotating on call duties and this position could require some weekend work from time to time for weekend patching and upgrades.
- The ability to perform root cause analysis, resolve complex issues and handle high-severity incidents in production environments.
Desired Qualifications
- IBM i Platform Operations & Lifecycle Management, deep experience running IBM i in production, including OS administration, PTF management, upgrades, and ongoing platform maintenance in partnership with infrastructure and vendors.
- High Availability, Resiliency & Production Support, proven ability to support mission-critical IBM i workloads with on-call L2/L3 responsibility, including HA/DR participation, failover and resiliency testing, and fast incident resolution.
- Middleware & Integration Support on IBM i, hands-on experience supporting MQ and related middleware on IBM i, integrating with distributed and mainframe platforms, and operating at scale in high-volume, transaction-intensive environments.
