About the role
Nebraska DHHS is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support and maintain critical IBM z/OS and LUW DB2 environments that power essential Health and Human Services systems.
Responsibilities
- Implement, test IBM z/OS and LUW DB2 database changes in accordance with NFOCUS and MMIS releases
- Manage the IBM z/OS and LUW DB2 environment by performing reorgs, statistics, data unloads/loads, data backups/recoveries
- Aid technical teams with SQL Query development as well as troubleshooting issues
- Administer and maintain Windows MS SQL Servers
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field of study and three years related experience or a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering or other related field and two years of experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: At least 5 years of recent experience in IBM z/OS and LUW DB2 Administration and support, IBM InfoSphere Data Replication, REXX/Python/VBScript development, CA CoolGen, COBOL.

Skills
- Knowledge and experience supporting IBM z/OS and LUW DB2
- SQL Query development and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of utilizing IBM z/OS tools including Data Studio, SPUFI, QMF, DB2IK
- Knowledge and experience with Java/ REXX development to author and maintain scripts used for DB2 administration
