About the role
Directly responsible for the development, implementation, and supervision of the International Baccalaureate program and curriculum in accordance with the International Baccalaureate regulations.
Responsibilities
- Keep abreast of professional development updates and trends affecting the International Baccalaureate program, and make recommendations for program adjustments.
- Cook up and supervise the implementation of International Baccalaureate curriculum pertaining to the program across the campus.
- Cook up and oversee effective professional development training for all teachers.
- Manage reports that will be submitted for monitoring compliance of the International Baccalaureate program.
- Advise parents, counselors, and community members with concerns and issues related to the International Baccalaureate program.
- Provide technical assistance to the principal, as needed, to ensure that the International Baccalaureate program and curriculum implementation meets International Baccalaureate policies.
- Maintain effective collaboration with other district and campus departments and non-district partnerships.
- Oversee the implementation of policies related to the International Baccalaureate program.
- Provide support for virtual learning environments for students and staff.
- Communicate the International Baccalaureate assessment philosophy, policy and procedures to the school community.
- Lead the analyses assessment to inform teaching and learning.
- Maintain effective collaboration with museums, learning institutes, junior colleges, universities and other district partnerships in the community.
- Maintain a professional code of ethics at all times.
- Ensure that a variety of languages are being offered to the students by exploring teacher exchange programs, guest teacher programs and international partnerships.
- Increase opportunities for students to participate in student exchange programs.
- Oversight in the design or modification, budget, and management of programs within district, state, federal and/or grant program guidelines.
Qualifications
- Required Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
- Experience Required 2+ years of teaching or coordination on an International Baccalaureate Campus, and at least three years experience as a professional development facilitator, preferred.
- Valid Texas Teacher Certificate with required endorsements for subject and subject level assigned.
