Responsibilities
- Apply engineering expertise to the design, support, and continuous improvement of production and test equipment.
- Partner with cross-functional team members to provide technical guidance, troubleshoot issues, and support ongoing engineering activities.
- Review and validate technical data, provide informed recommendations, and help influence product and tooling design decisions.
- Ensure all tooling, equipment, and processes comply with safety, ergonomics, reliability, and maintainability standards, as well as applicable regulations.
- Participate in equipment and tooling try-outs to confirm functional readiness and requirement alignment.
- Absess customer, operational, and system needs to define performance requirements and ensure physical and functional compatibility across interfaces.
- Collect, interpret, and analyze production and downtime data from multiple sources to identify reliability trends and key contributors to equipment performance issues.
- Lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations and drive the implementation of corrective actions within production.
- Support automation initiatives by advancing equipment connectivity, data integration, and alignment with organizational metrics and long-term goals.
- Develop preventative maintenance strategies, author PM documentation, and identify critical spare parts for production assets.
- Work independently with minimal oversight while coordinating closely with specialists across manufacturing, quality, safety, and engineering disciplines.
- Foster team effectiveness through proactive communication, knowledge sharing, mentorship, and collaboration.
- Contribute to the design and development of automated test equipment, including documentation, hardware build support, integration activities, and validation testing.
Requirements
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance required (U.S. citizenship is mandatory).
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
- At least 15 years of relevant engineering experience.
- A minimum of 10 years working hands-on with test equipment, including troubleshooting electronic systems and performing tests on components, assemblies, and finished products using both manual and automated test setups.
- Practical laboratory experience in power or analog electronics testing, measurement techniques, or test methodology development.
- Ability to quickly learn new tools, systems, and processes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Recognized Subject Matter Expert with deep experience in test equipment and test methodologies.
- Proficiency using standard electronic lab instrumentation such as digital multimeters (DMMs), oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies, function generators, and related diagnostic tools.
