IAD Aircraft Mechanic Helper
About the Role
As an Aircraft Mechanic Helper at Swissport, you will provide essential assistance to Aircraft Maintenance staff and contracted customers. Your responsibilities will include marshalling aircraft, push back and towing, setting up gates, and other assigned duties. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction in the fast-paced aviation industry.
Responsibilities
- Marshall aircraft during arrival and departure.
- Drive and operate ground support equipment such as tow tractors, aircraft tugs, maintenance high lifts, trucks, carts, ground power units, air conditioning carts, air starter units, and maintenance vans.
- Set up gates with cones and chalks for arrival/remove for departure.
- Assist maintenance staff in all tasks for customers.
- Inspect equipment before and after use for safety, condition, and serviceability.
- Ensure customer satisfaction with services.
- Comply with company’s established safety policies and practices.
- Comply with all applicable FAR (station code and manuals).
- Maintain effective and positive contact with customers on work-related matters.
- Keep Supervisory staff informed of work-related matters.
- Help maintain and organize maintenance equipment in accordance with RSM (accomplish equipment service cards).
- Help maintain customer inventory part lists in accordance with RSM and customer requirements (if any).
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 2 years of ramp experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Flexible to work on various shifts (days, nights, weekends, holidays).
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 70 lbs.
Pay
The expected pay rate is $25/hr.
