I&E Technician

Location: Baytown, Texas (On-Site) | Duration: 12+ months contract with chances of further extensions

About the role

We are presenting an opportunity for a skilled I&E Technician III to support the safe, reliable operation of industrial electrical and instrumentation systems in a demanding production environment. Our team is seeking a hands-on professional who can troubleshoot, maintain, and improve complex control and monitoring equipment while helping keep critical operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Install instrumentation and electrical components safely and support maintenance of industrial electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot control systems and complex equipment associated with gas receipts, turbines, generators, process plants, dehydration, control and pump stations, and gas chromatography.
• Maintain, modify, and troubleshoot DCS and/or PLC systems, advanced monitoring devices, alarms, shutdown systems, process controls, substation and branch feeders, variable frequency drives, air/fuel controllers, and panel boards.
• Perform preventive and general maintenance, update electrical drawings, provide training and technical support, and help maintain lighting, motors, conduit, wire, and basic motor controls.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 5+ years of electrical and instrumentation experience is required, preferably in an energy-related industry.
• Ability to read and understand written safety procedures, work procedures, blueprints, P&IDs, work permits, and technical instruction manuals is required.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical codes and familiarity with AC voltage (120-480) three phase and single phase plus 24 VDC is required.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required.
• Must live or relocate to within 1 hour of the reporting location, be able to take call-outs and work overtime, and be able to travel domestically up to 10% of the time.
