Summary
The Instrument & Electrical Technician will work in a team environment to achieve maintenance objectives set by the Maintenance Superintendent. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, and repairing plant instrumentation and electrical equipment.
Responsibilities
- Follow all established safety procedures for plant equipment maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment calibrations in data files.
- Perform calibrations and repairs on PH sensors, pressure, temperature, and flow transmitters.
- Maintain plant AC motors and motor control systems.
- Manage Allen Bradley DCS system, PLC, and supporting instrumentation.
- Diagnose and repair electrical power and control systems.
- Ensure work areas are clean and organized after each job.
- Write and submit work orders.
- Collaborate with operations and supervisors to resolve plant issues.
- Support Quality, Safety, Health, Environment (QSH&E) goals and objectives.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- BS, associate, or technical school degree in a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in petrochemical or chemical industries preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate using standard Microsoft Office products.
- Oral presentation skills necessary for all levels of management.
Physical Demands
- Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Move between various areas of the facility.
- Climb ladders or platforms.
- Enter confined spaces.
- Wear all required safety equipment.
Work Environment
- Varies from office to plant production areas and outdoor climate conditions.
- Noise levels vary depending on the area of production.
Normal Work Schedule
- Typical work schedule: 4 ten-hour days with a 4-day weekend every other week.
- Available and flexible to work overtime and cover shifts of other technicians.
- Occasional changes in schedule due to special circumstances.
