Responsibilities

  • Maintain productivity levels equal to the company’s standards as defined by work instructions.
  • Maintain excellent TPM housekeeping in accordance with company standards within the maintenance shop and plant.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation, control, and electrical problems; advise engineers on process troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical assistance to unit operations, project engineers, and contract engineers as needed (project and non-project work).
  • Recommend newer technologies for replacing obsolete equipment.
  • Prepare field change packages for new instrument installations and upgrades.
  • Ensure all instrumentation, control systems, electrical, and information systems documentation is up-to-date, including Mechanical Integrity documentation.
  • Design, develop, and repair all aspects of instrument/electrical control systems and equipment.
  • Install and provide technical support for PLC-based hardware and software.
  • Write, modify, and review procedures for plant improvements and safety.

Requirements

  • 5 years of verifiable experience in the Instrument craft within the petrochemical industry preferred.
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs., climb stairs and ladders, and work at elevation (scaffolds, hydraulic lifts, ladders).
  • Use of hand wrenches and breathing apparatus (self-contained).

Skills

  • Perform instrumentation and electrical assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Strong sense of ownership for work and workplace.
  • Communicate with plant personnel with limited directional guidance from supervisors.
  • Wide degree of creativity and latitude expected.
  • Proficiency in LOTO (Lockout-Tagout).
  • Ability to read and participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

Pay

$47.00 - $51.00 per hour to start. Potential for increase after probation and training completion.
