About the role
The position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the electrical and instrumentation equipment of a new 300 MMSCFD cryogenic natural gas processing plant in the Delaware Basin. The Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician will support equipment including but not limited to natural gas and liquids separation, condensate stabilization, amine treating and gas dehydration, turbine, reciprocating, and screw compression, turbine power generation, propane refrigeration, natural gas cryogenic processing, CO2 compression, treating, and dehydration, reverse osmosis water treating & pumps, transmitters, valves, actuators, and other instrumentation, gas and liquids measurement equipment, PLCs and plant control, safety, and communications systems, PDC, MCC, transformers, breakers, wiring, motors, VFDs, generators, and additional electrical equipment, electrical substation & power distribution, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Responsibilities
- Serve as a safety leader in EOG's proactive safety culture
- Operate and maintain the plant and substation I&E equipment in accordance with operating procedures
- Conduct preventative maintenance and troubleshoot plant and substation equipment
- Optimize plant operations and maintenance (O&M) to improve plant safety, reliability, and efficiency
- Program, configure, and support plant distributed control system (DCS), safety system, and PLCs
- Perform loop checks, point-to-points, PID tuning, and support equipment commissioning and testing
- Execute Management of Change (MOC) processes with required documentation
- Manage and track parts, inventory, consumables, work orders, and costs
- Cook up with O&M and safety teams to ensure Process Safety Management (PSM) compliance
- Verify Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and participate in periodic plant PHA's
Requirements
- Unwavering commitment to personnel safety and regulatory compliance
- Five years of Plant I&E Technician or related experience preferred
- Journeyman or Master electrician license preferred
- Solid understanding of electrical, instrumentation, control, communication, and safety systems
- Excellent problem solving, communication, and leadership skills
- Experience in PSM facilities and CMMS programs is considered a plus
- Knowledge of turbine compression & power generation is considered a plus
- Ability to work in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment
- High School diploma
