I&C Instructor

As a I&C Instructor you will support the new generation of reactors including the AP1000® and the operating fleet from all over the world. You will report to the Operations and Technical Training Manager and be located in southwestern Pennsylvania. The position is hybrid in nature at the discretion of the manager, typically requiring 2-3 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse facility in Madison, PA.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all stages of the SAT process of the initial and continuing education programs of their specialty.
  • Carry out the analysis, design, and implementation of initial and continuous training needs in their specialty.
  • Design, develop, and implement sessions for initial and continuous training courses of licensed and non-licensed operations personnel, including teaching sessions in the classroom, plant, and the simulator.
  • Analyze, design, and implement initial and continuous training needs of their specialty.
  • Collaborate in the analysis and implementation of corrections in the simulator when any type of malfunction is detected, also collaborating in the required tests.
  • Coordinate training, providing support to training committees and/or planning training programs.
  • Define and collaborate in the development of supporting documentation required by assigned activities, as well as in the maintenance and updating of existing documentary support.
  • Define and collaborate in the development of advanced educational means (simulators, multimedia, videos, models) related to assigned functions, as well as in the maintenance and updating of those already available.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Engineering OR a High School Diploma/GED holder AND one of the following experience requirements:

  • 4-10 years of experience in the following areas:
    • Navy Nuclear Operator
    • NRC Reactor Operator (RO) License
    • NRC Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) License
    • Plant-specific SRO Certification
    • Commercial Nuclear Power Plant Engineer
    • Commercial or civilian nuclear experience

Pay

The base salary range for this position, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $85,200 to $106,500 per year.
