Hyperbaric Tech - Casual

About the role

Essentia is looking for a Casual Hyperbaric Tech to provide oxygen therapy to our patients as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider. Position located at the 32nd Avenue Building, Department 3011290, Hyperbaric and Dive Medicine, 32nd Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe and effective operation of hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems.
• Administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by the provider.
• Monitor and control hyperbaric chamber equipment performance.
• Monitor patient responses during sessions and make proper adjustments to ensure safety and effective equipment use.
• Maintain open communication with patients, physicians, and co‑workers regarding changes in a patient’s clinical condition.

Qualifications

• Current and maintained healthcare professional certification or license as Respiratory Therapist, Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Certified Hyperbaric Specialist.
• BCLS certification required within 1 month of hire or transfer.
• Completion of an approved hyperbaric medicine introductory training course within 6 months of hire or transfer.

Schedule

Regular weekday shifts: Monday–Friday, either 0600–1400 or 0800–1600. On‑call responsibility: the 4th weekend of each month, starting at 1600 on Friday and ending at 0600 on Monday.

Pay

Compensation range: $23.76 – $35.64 per hour.
