Hyper-V Administrator

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for unique or complex information systems and/or information technology projects across more than one discipline, such as application support, database administration, software quality assurance/quality control, software engineering, network telecommunications, and infrastructure operations of administration, analysis, engineering and design.
  • Provides direction to other IT Administrators on the project in a senior administrator capacity.
  • Considered a technical specialist in a variety of IT administrator disciplines.
  • Manage Microsoft Hyper-V infrastructure across Windows Server environments.
  • Perform VM provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management.
  • Maintain Hyper-V documentation and runbooks.
  • Monitor Hyper-V environment health and performance.
  • Implement virtualization automation using PowerShell and System Center.
  • Perform capacity planning and resource optimization.
  • Support disaster recovery and backup operations using Hyper-V Replica.
  • Coordinate with Windows Systems Administrators for host management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent relevant experience; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 8-15 years of experience in information technology, systems administration or other IT related field with 4+ years Hyper-V Admin experience.

Skills

  • Strong in: Hyper-V 2016/2019/2022, System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM), Failover Clustering.
  • Knowledge: PowerShell automation, backup solutions, disaster recovery, Hyper-V Replica.
  • MICROSOFT CERTIFIED: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or equivalent.

Pay

Salary range: $130k-$154k
