About the role
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in supporting our patients’ long-term oral health, providing preventive care, and creating a positive, welcoming experience at every visit. You’ll work under general supervision from the dentist and collaborate closely with our clinical team to ensure exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, disinfect, and fully stock the treatment room for each appointment.
- Update patient health histories, take blood pressure, and gather visit information.
- Educate patients about their oral health needs, treatment options, and long-term outcomes.
- Provide Soft Tissue Management (STM) and customize home-care plans for periodontal patients.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to maintain clean, organized, and professional treatment and lab areas.
- Document patient conditions, medical/dental histories, treatment notes, and patient feedback.
- Perform hygiene treatment procedures, including prophylaxis, scaling, sealants, coronal polishing, and fluoride applications.
- Manage and oversee non-surgical periodontal therapy programs.
- Expose digital radiographs.
- Lead the preventive maintenance program and partner with the hygiene assistant on recall systems.
- Maintain inventory control in hygiene rooms.
- Sharpen and sterilize periodontal instruments.
- Work independently with recurring and routine tasks.
- Follow OSHA guidelines and company safety policies.
- Support the office by helping earn 5-star Google reviews through exceptional patient experiences.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduation from a two- to four-year accredited Dental Hygiene Program with CEU certifications.
- Current state licensure in good standing.
- Current CPR certification.
- Ability to lift 15–20 lbs.
