Hygienist

About the role

Waterbury Dental Care is seeking a full-time Dental Hygienist to join our team. We provide quality dental and personal care in a relaxed, comfortable environment where patients feel welcomed and confident in the care they receive. Our practice includes general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, and prosthodontics.

Responsibilities

• Perform dental hygiene services and procedures, including dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, application of fluoride and sealants
• Detect disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums; using probes to locate periodontal disease and assess levels of recession
• Select materials and equipment for dental hygiene visits by evaluating patient’s oral health
• Educate patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions
• Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical and dental histories, and charting in patient records
• Sterilize equipment
• Take x-rays as necessary and as recommended by the ADA

Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to follow outlined policies and guidelines
• Professional and positive attitude
• Associate’s degree from an accredited dental hygiene program
• Valid Connecticut license to practice (Registered Dental Hygienist, RDH)
• Available to work within current office hours (shifts to be determined)

Preferred Qualifications

• Dental office experience
• Dentrix Ascend software experience

Pay

$48–$53/hour

Schedule

• Monday: 8 AM – 6 PM
• Wednesday: 9 AM – 6 PM
• Thursday: 9 AM – 6 PM
• Friday: 9 AM – 5 PM
