Join the Badger team as a Hydrovac Operator, using high-pressure water and vacuum systems to dig precisely, uncover utilities, and contribute to essential infrastructure projects.
About the role
Operate hydrovac equipment in various environments, including confined spaces, and drive hydrovac trucks (10-15% of work time). Ensure safety, perform routine inspections and minor repairs, and document all required paperwork accurately.
Responsibilities
- Operate hydrovac equipment and perform hydrovac duties in diverse working environments
- Drive hydrovac trucks (10-15% of total work time)
- Attend safety meetings and perform routine inspections and minor repairs of equipment
- Prepare work areas by setting up safety measures and addressing potential hazards
- Document and report all Badger, Federal, State, and Customer paperwork accurately
Requirements
- Must have a valid Class A or B CDL
- CPR/First Aid, Fall Protection, and OSHA 10 certification (preferred)
- Experience driving a manual transmission (10-18 speed) without automatic restrictions (preferred)
- Ability to work variable shifts with extended hours
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull 50+ pounds and have physical stamina for manual labor in varying weather conditions
- Prior hydrovac or related industrial experience preferred
- Must be at least 21 years of age

Pay
$27.00 per hour and up, based on experience, with opportunities for pay increases and career advancement.
Additional Information
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) provided
- Candidates must undergo a physical examination and pre-employment screenings (driver’s abstract review, drug and alcohol test)
- This position is in a region covered under a collective bargaining agreement; successful applicants may be required to join the union as a condition of employment
