Primary Responsibilities
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and design calculations for a variety of infrastructure and land development projects.
- Develop and review drainage reports, design plans, and supporting documentation.
- Utilize modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, and related tools to evaluate drainage systems and flood impacts.
- Support project managers in developing scope, schedule, and budgets for H&H-related tasks.
- Cook up with internal teams across transportation, site development, and environmental disciplines.
- Aid in preparation of permit applications and coordination with regulatory agencies, including FEMA and DOT.
- Participate in field reviews and provide construction phase support as needed.
- Ensure quality and accuracy of work through QA/QC processes.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients through project delivery and communication.
- Mentor junior engineers and designers, providing guidance on technical work and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field required.
- 4 to 8 years of relevant hydrology and hydraulics experience.
- Experience with H&H modeling software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8, etc.).
- Familiarity with FEMA regulations, floodplain management, and DOT standards is preferred.
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mississippi, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
