Hydrologist / Geomorphologist

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead physical scientist for hydrology and geomorphology on the TRRP Science Branch team.
• Work at the interface of applied science, river management, and restoration.
• Develop and evaluate flow-release hydrographs.
• Assess geomorphic, hydrologic, and thermal responses of the Trinity River.
• Provide technical and design input for river restoration activities, including:
  • Channel and floodplain rehabilitation
  • Gravel augmentation
  • Bank work
  • Riparian restoration
  • Sediment management
  • Watershed improvements
• Perform a combination of field investigations, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and analysis, data analysis, technical reporting, and collaboration with engineers, biologists, geomorphologists, and other scientists (within and outside of the USBR).
