Hydrographic Surveyor

About the role

Acquire nearshore lidar and acoustic bathymetry for a coastal erosion monitoring program that tracks beach and dune change after major storms. The position blends boat-based survey, topographic GNSS walkovers, and drone overflights, followed by point-cloud processing and shoreline-position analysis in the office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct boat-based surveys to collect nearshore lidar and acoustic bathymetry data
• Perform topographic GNSS walkovers of beaches and dunes
• Execute drone overflights for aerial data collection
• Process point-cloud data and analyze shoreline position changes

Requirements

• Field stamina and physical capability for outdoor survey work
• Genuine comfort working on or near water
• Hands-on experience with geospatial point-cloud tools
