Hydro Control Operator

Responsibilities

• Acts as the Operator in charge of the Merwin project and dispatches duties.
• Monitors flows and adjusts generation for the Lewis River, Wallowa Falls, Bend, Cline Falls, Prospect Projects, and others as assigned to Merwin Headquarters.
• Qualified as a Hydro Operator A.
• Provides direction in establishing and issuing tagouts on hydro facilities.
• Maintains operational requirements for hydro facilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Power Generation operation experience.
