Responsibilities
- Promptly, at start of shift, review work schedule, check equipment and supplies required to perform the work scheduled, and prepare for operations
- Disassemble and inspect components for reusability or repair options utilizing precision measuring tools, Caterpillar reusability and salvage guidelines, Caterpillar and OEM specifications
- Verify findings, measurements and procedures to develop a plan for repairs
- Order or obtain from stock the appropriate parts needed to make the repairs
- Perform the necessary steps to prepare the parts for reassembly utilizing tools for polishing, honing, buffing and cleaning
- Reassemble and test components and perform quality checks after work is complete
- Writing service reports within company systems
- Paint components and pressure wash components when necessary
- Perform general housekeeping duties as assigned
- At end of shift, secure all equipment and machinery, and complete all required paperwork
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must have earned a High School Diploma, or a GED
- Must have 5 years of work experience in hydraulics or a related field
- Must read, write, communicate in English as it relates to this job and safety regulations
- Must meet the ergonomic and physical requirements, as well as the physical base scores for this position
- Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform this job
- Must be able to perform all job functions safely
- Must meet the company performance standards for the job
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Basic computer skills to utilize Caterpillar SIS 2.0 (Parts and technical information) and company-related systems
Education and/or Experience
- Earned a High School Diploma, or a GED
- 5 years of work experience in hydraulics or a related field
