Hydraulics Engineer

Specific Responsibilities

  • Function as a Sub-Discipline Lead or Deputy Discipline Lead on small to large Alternative Delivery (AD) projects, responsible for the work of the technical group.
  • Plan, direct, and supervise the work of a design team requiring organization of manpower and financial accountability.
  • Lead the technical excellence and growth of other engineers and design personnel.
  • Provide technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
  • Ensure compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract.
  • Prepare material/equipment technical specifications.
  • Cookordinate subconsultant work as necessary.
  • Maintain affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
  • Determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.
  • May assist with other administrative and technical duties.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Extensive Hydrologic and Hydraulic Design experience on AD Transportation Projects in the South Region.
  • Experience successfully serving as a Discipline Lead, Sub-Discipline Lead, or Deputy Discipline Lead on Projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Experience acting as a client liaison.
  • Prominent track record of delivering Drainage designs for municipalities & DOT’s throughout the South Region.
  • Strong leadership skills.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Accredited degree in Civil Engineering, Masters is a plus but not required.
  • Minimum of 10-15+ years of related work experience.
  • PE License Required.

Skills/Competencies

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Experience in supervising and hiring staff.
  • OpenRoads Designer (ORD) Drainage & other commonly used H&H design software.
  • Must be able to drive a car and have own transportation.
  • Lead small to large Civil projects.
  • Support client relations management activities.

Compensation Range

$124,726.29 - $142,544.33
