Hydraulic Cylinder Mechanic

About the Role

Assemble, disassemble, and repair pumps, motors, cylinders, and valves. Diagnose problems, identify parts needed for repair, and test all items in both shop and field environments.

Responsibilities

• Repair pumps, motors, cylinders, and valves.
• Tear down pumps, motors, cylinders, and valves for repair.
• Identify parts needed for repair and request new parts and materials as necessary.
• Build new pumps, motors, cylinders, and valves.
• Assist in the machine shop as needed.
• Test completed pumps, motors, valves, and cylinders according to written procedures.
• Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
• Maintain records of parts and materials needed.
• Keep a neat and orderly shop.
• Hone and repair barrels.
• Provide assistance in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and controls.
• Maintain test stands and equipment in accordance with ISO procedures.
• Understand and abide by environmental policies.
• Perform welding as needed.
• Use cranes and other heavy and light machines and equipment.
• Keep management apprised of work and backlog.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED/Vocational School education.
• Three years of mechanic experience; hydraulic experience preferred.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to pay attention to detail.
• Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.
• Ability to accept responsibility and account for actions.
• Ability to make decisions while following company procedures.
• Certified welder (optional).
